Good light setup for a 6ft tank?
« on: April 19, 2016, 10:47:41 AM »
Looking to get a nice light setup for a new 6ft display tank.

Our 4ft tank is lit by two dual T5 setups.  Coralife Saltwater fixtures.  These consist of two full spectrum bulbs and two blue actinic.  I would like something with similar output.

I would like to go with LEDs, but they always seem to have too much blue or not enough in my opinion.  The tank will have Gibberosa in it, so I would like something that will bring our the blue in them.

I dont care about the fancy options that so many come with today, if the fixture has them... thats fine.  But, I dont want to pay for them if I dont have too.  (thunderstorms, dimming, etc)

I like my finnex "monster ray" led.  Not sure if they have a 72" version, but each led has a small red, green, and blue light.  Looks white to the naked eye, but if you look at it as it reflects off a glass top, you can see each individual color. Made specifically to bring out the color in discus and cichlids.
