New 120 Gallon Tank
« on: August 11, 2015, 07:33:46 PM »
I've got a 75 gallon with a 3 inch JD, a 4 inch Severum and 4 inch Tiger Oscar. I've been looking around for a 120 gallon and showed my wife a picture of a 90 gallon currently listed in the for sale section. My plan is to let the JD have the 75 gallon and move the Severum and Oscar to a bigger tank when they grow a little more.

She said, "Nope; not going to happen."

I replied, "Yes, it's going to happen."

She said, "Not unless you lose 15 lbs. it's not." And later she added, "I'll even pay for it from my paycheck no matter how much it costs."

She's been after me to lose a few pounds for a few weeks now. This might just be the motivation I need. (I know how to do it because I lost 30 pounds once before, but it does take some effort which explains why she is trying to bribe me.)  :D

Good Luck and eat small meals with lots of protein.  Drink water with lemon and you'll do well.  Nothing secret about how to do it.

I would love for my hubby to make that offer!! I might even take up jogging for a 120 or 125 gallon! Lol! However, with a 125 already in the living room, a 55 in the office, and a 20 (baby tank) on the bar...I'm pretty sure I'm out of luck. 😂 I'm converting an old 55 into a snake cage for him as surprise. Maybe that will get me a few "brownie points" being that I'm building the new top frame and lid myself. 😁

Good luck on the diet. I lost 10 pounds in a 3 weeks just by giving up sugar & creamer in my coffee, (I drink A LOT of coffee), AND I switched my evening snack to Whaet Thins instead of a snack cake.

Look forward to seeing pics of your new tank soon!

I need to drink a lot more water. That's a big part of my challenge along with a stressful period at work that creates the desire to raid the snack machine every afternoon.

I think I may adjust my plans a little bit.

I think I'll make my 75 gallon a tropheus tank and move my severum, dempsey and oscar to an appropriate sized tank for all 3 of them when they are adult sized.

That sounds like a good plan.

Update:

I have lost 3 1/2 pounds so far. Only 11 1/2 pounds to go before we pick up the new 120 gallon.
