Rimless Tank Stand Inquiry

So I have the opportunity to pick up 2 rimless tanks for fairly cheap but they do not come with a stand. I currently have a rimless tank on a stand I built but I went to the 9's with it and I feel like it was a bit overkill. I would like to do just a traditional DIY 2x4 stand but here are the options I was thinking:
1) do the normal stand and let tank sit on ends of tank as that's what the rim would do otherwise
2) screw plywood onto the stand to help distribute weight (would this really help though?)
3) put more 2x4s going horizontally (however I don't want to put vertical support boards underneath as I want 2 tanks stack on 1 stand)
4) put more 2x4s going length wise sitting flat side down to distribute the weight better

I don't know if I am over thinking it but I don't want to have 60+ gallons on my floor either. Thanks for all of the advice and have a good one!

I didn't fully follow the stand construction comments, but here's what I would do for a frame:



And then I'd put a flat piece of plywood across the top, though it probably isn't necessary, but I do it on all of my DIY stands.

Ya sorry if that was confusing - probably should have been more descriptive. Thanks for the reply Ron, you confirmed what I thought should be done. Time to hit up Home Depot and get some 2x4s haha.

Off topic now but any suggestions for Calcium build up? I have read that CLR is safe as long as you rinse well but I don't know if I trust it with the silicone. I know vinegar works as well but you have to really soak it.

J, there's a product you can purchase at Canadian Tire that will clean that up real good. I looked for it a few months ago but once it was posted on the Windsor club forum I think ppl bought them out. The name escapes me now, but I'll look for it and post it here. It's usually sold near the Brasso and Silvo products.

The product is called "Bar Keeper's Friend" and you can buy it at Canadian Tire for about $3-4. It's supposedly 10,000x stronger then vinegar. Just ensure you give the tank a good rinse after you've cleaned with it.

You can buy Bar's Keeper any where....I use that to clean my sink, never thought to use on tank buildup.
