How to price used items

I just rebuilt my whole fish room and have a number of tanks and stand and various fish things that I want to sell so I can have my basement back. 

Is there a general rule of thumb any of you can recommend on how to price used items?

If it in good shape and clean then you can sometimes get more and if it not clean and is missing things then it' not worth as much.

Used tanks are usually about $1 per gal for glass and $2 per gal on acrylic for most sizes up to about 100g. Once you get over 100-125g range then prices go up a bit more. Others stuff like filters and heaters and other equipment are harder to say because there's usually "club guy prices" then there's "Craigslist/ebay guy" prices.

Something is only worth what someone will actually pay for it.

The better something is priced, the quicker it'll sell.

It'll also depend on how much you value your time IMO.

I approach things from the perspective, how much is it worth to me, time included. Some things I sell, some I don't even bother listing and some other things I just throw out.

At the swap you can take offers if people seem to balk at the prices. If someone seems interested ask them what they would offer. You can always say no

I was hoping there was bartering allowed.  What I really need to figure out is how to go and look at other people's tables while trying to mind mine.
