plants with my fish?
« on: January 18, 2015, 12:38:08 PM »
I have some real plants in my aquarium, I have no idea what kind they are but I have not seen a lot of plants in aquariums with peacocks and haps, and I was wondering if I should remove them before they rip them out? Or if anyone has had success with live plants and keeping peacocks and haps.

Plants are usually okay with Peacocks and Haps. I have both Java fern and Anubias in my 55g peacock and hap tank and they don't bother them at all. Some Syno cats will chew on the Anubias though so if you can cats watch them. Mbuna on the other hand will sherd plants in no time. I tried some in my Mbuna tank and it didn't last more than a week or two.

If fish eat plants or algae as part of their diet it won't go well for the plants.
