Hah! I spent all spring counting those out in creeks for the clinton river watershed council.

I took an extra curricular class in college studying aquatic ecosystems and enjoyed the weekend trips to various locations with kick-screens to find aquatic insects.

I was a lowly unpaid intern for the Clinton River Watershed Council.  I did that (which was fun!) along with cleaning garbage out of log jams (which was disgusting and dangerous).

But it has made quite a difference over the past two decades on the Clinton. Use too the Clinton river was a nasty dirty water way that was mostly rough fish at best and void of insect life. Now over the past 10-15 years due to groups like the Clinton River Watershed Council, Paul Young Chaper of Trout Unlimited, and other groups of anglers the Clinton river is actually a decent little river these days that has some nice runs of Steelhead, as well as pretty decent insect life with some good hatches of mayflies and caddis flies
