Christmas fulu in with peacocks and haps?
« on: January 10, 2014, 10:19:18 AM »
What do you guys think about putting a christmas fulu in a show tank with peacocks and haps.  Would there be any agression issues?  Would the fulu color up without a female?

Just wondering.

As long as the tank is full of lots fish with lots of places to hide in a tank that size there are rarely any issues with any Malawi or Victorian cichlids ......good luck lets see pics. And the fulus would look their best if they had a male fulu or closley related male to fight with.... female not nessasary.

I must have something in my water... any Victorian Hap I have brought home has caused havoc in my peacock tank.  The Vic looks great, but the peacocks look horrible and get beat up.

I have to have either a species only, or they have to go into my more aggressive tank with the Livingstoni, Venustus, etc.

In my experience, the Christmas Fulu aren't as aggressive as many of the other victorian haps (Sp. 44, flamebacks, thickskins, etc).

personally i wouldnt risk it. ive had 3 or 4 different breeding groups of them in the past couple years. all of them have been really aggressive. my male from my current group jjst killed all of the females suddenly. ive always found them to be the mkst aggressive fish ive kept, but i may just be unlucky

I have a frontosa mixed with peacocks, haps, and mbunas. Rarely will one of the fishes fins look a bit tattered, but nothing more and usually heals in less than a week. This may be because I added 99% of the fish at the same time. They are only in a 90 gallon till I get a larger tank. Still all small under 3 inches.
