What would you guys ask for a 180 acrylic, 5-6 months old, fx5, other canister, T50, heaters, stand, canopy, rocks, sand, fish, etc

If you're trying to sell this, it's in the wrong section.  You also need to determine a price before you list it (you can always get an idea of the worth by using google and craigslist for the individual components.

To further aid your pricing, since I've done a lot of CraigsList searching... I'd assume the rocks and sand have no value, and maybe $10 ea on the fish unless wild caught or unique (e.g. not yellow labs).  Maybe $2/gallon on the tank depending on how clean or scratched the acrylic is and $100 for the stand and canopy?  Heaters another $30-60 depending on branf and features and age. I don't know about the FX5.

I'd ballpark it around $500 and drop the price as needed until it sold.  That's if you sell it here.  You might get lucky on CL and find a buyer for $600-650, or you might get a lot of offers for $250.  You may also do better parting out.

Thanks.  Like I said.  5-6 months old.  Not a scratch on it.  Pics were taken today.  Aquarium alone was more than 500.  I know it is used, but I'd rather stick it in my parents garage.

Gotta agree with that. Going price on used tanks even in perfect condition is about $1per gallon for glass and $2per gallon for acrylic. You'd probably get the most money by parting it out. Send the filter to ebay, the tank to CL and then sell the fish individually. Would be more work for you but in the end I think it'd get you the most return on your money IMO.

Appreciate that.  I'm moving and don't want to spend the time parting out.  Already was offered $800 today from someone looking.  I'm not trying to make a buck.  I already know I'm going to lose.  And in that case, I may as well sell the fish off and store the aquarium.

Sorry I was unclear...you never said how many fish so my $500 figure was just for the equipment. 

But if you can store it you'll be better off vs selling right now if you think you'll set it up again soon.

Steve gave good advice re: parting out.

No one is trying to rip you off, just give you an honest opinion on what used tanks go for on fish forums where people are looking for the best deal possible and buy and sell tanks regularly.   It's possible we're wrong and if you can get more go for it by all means.

Unless you think you're ever going to keep fish again and in that case I'd just sell off the livestock, and put the rest in storage.

Appreciate the responses.  Yeah, I came here looking for what you guys thought.  Not keen on selling fish alone.  I can just picture answering multiple emails, calls, etc., then having person after person over until all are gone.  You guys know how easy it is to catch certain fish with all that rock.  I'd rather buy a 3' gar pike and place him after he's done eating.  JK!  Thanks again.

I think $800 for the entire setup as is... is a good price to move it farily quick.

If you have the time to sit on it... a little more could probably be had.

Wish it was an 8' tank and I would be knocking on your door.
