Becky, the fish look very comfortable in their new digs.  I hope you have as much fun with them as I have had over the years.  Make sure you let us all know when you get a spawn.

There's absolutely NO CHANCE she won't update this as soon as there is a spawn. Lol.  ;D

I'm really glad she's enjoying them so much.  And, I'm pretty confident she'll get a spawn or two (or more) going forward.  I look forward to reading about it.  ;)

Here is a video of my first set of babies. She had 7 total. They were about .75 inches. She had let a few out in tank too. Will get video of babies and post that later. Another female had 7 babies with some of the egg sac left.

Not sure how long she was holding. I noticed on Monday that her chin had started to drop and she was not eating. But with the size of them she had to have been holding a week or so before. We just stripped her last night.

I find it's hard to tell if tropheus are holding or not. There were times when I was sure she was holding and times when I didn't think she was. Maybe she was letting them out in the rocks? My guess based on the size of the fry is that she was holding a good month or more. I think they're close to 1". Crazy when you're used to less than half inch fry. Lol.

Dubs hold for about four weeks and females will eat while brooding.  If they release in the tank, the fry will be retaken into her mouth until they are too large and then they look for cover.  Congratulations!  I'm pleased you've gotten your first fry so soon.
