So i had a thought the other day, and i figured insted of googling to try to find out this would be better. Has anyone ever used just plain bricks, or concrete block, or stepping stone stuff in there tanks. Im not sure if it is or would be safe in an aquarium. I have many other options, just a thought here. Thanks in advance.. Ski...

Yes, I've used keystone type bricks.  I built a pyramid type thing to protect some Firemouths from an Oscar.

IMO blocks/bricks have a horrible surface area to volume ratio - waste of tank space/water volume and adds significant weight.

plus blocks are cement and like making back grounds you have to prep them for tank use.  I think the lime is the issue not sure exactly though as I never did this.  But I have seen many threads on the topic post on forums.
