My 54 gallon corner tank
« on: November 29, 2012, 08:26:19 PM »
Some pics of my 54 gallon corner tank.

The rock is lace rock and the plants are java fern.  I just bought the plants last month and they are doing very well.

The fish are acei, electric yellow & white top afra.  I also have a 10" catfish that emerges when the lights go out.

All that wood was from a trip to the Smoky Mountains.  We were swimming in what I called a merging of rivers.  My wife called it a hillbilly swimming hole.  The wood is tree roots that were exposed due to erosion.  I pulled off hunks of dead roots and brought them home.  I may take some out.  I think I may have overloaded the tank.

Hope you enjoy the pics.

Regards,
George

Cool tank! I think you should leave the wood because it looks good and fits in with the Ps. acei in the tank. My understanding is that acei form groups around trees which have fallen into the lake and graze upon the algae growing on the branches.

Yes, that is correct...  Can you tell us which Hap.species Acei are found alongside?

Thanks for the kind comments.

The fish seem to enjoy their setup.

Now, I just have to figure out what to do with the 50+ fry I have from the very busy white top afra.  :o

Very nice tank! I'm debating on adding some wood to my tank now
55 gallon PS. williamsi north, elongatus chewere and syndontis petricola

40 breeder synodontis petricola with an asian twist. A pair of chinese vermillion gobies and a trio of betta splendens.

40 breeder soon to be salty fish with live rock, possibly adding some lps and soft corals after
