Jaguar cichlids
« on: December 15, 2012, 06:26:38 PM »
Not sure if they are new world or old world, but is there a market for these. I have a chance to get a bunch of juveniles and I would grow them out a little and only keep one or two for my self

If so what is the going rate for say 2" to 3" Jaguar Cichlids

In my experience there's not too much of a market for these, unless you are talking about adult pairs.

Marty pretty much nailed it

Going rate can fluctuate on how many are around. ($1-$5)  But, a decent size female lays 1000+eggs & it's very easy to flood the market.

IMO Your best bet would be to raise them to 5-6" & then try to sell them. Or raise them up until they start to pair & spawn.  A proven pair will sell easier than individuals.
