Aquarium Rock.
« on: October 21, 2012, 12:14:14 PM »
Does anyone know a good lfs that sells cool aquarium rock? I found some cool stores online but I think shipping is going to be outrageous. I'm looking for Texas hokey rock or other stones with holes that are colorful. Also can you put dead coral into a freshwater tank?

Where is "local" for you? Because my local shop has some really nice Texas Holy Rock (they aren't cheap though).

Oh okay then this will be local for you as well then. "The Aquarium Shop" in Royal Oak 504 North Main just North of 11 Mile rd. They get shipments of Texas Holy rock in on a regular basis and usually have anywhere from 20-40 pieces there depending on how long between shipments. Some of it is really nice pieces. Like I said it's not cheap, but then again no one is really cheap on holy rock that I have seen. Well worth the look if you haven't been in there.

Thanks. The funny thing is I've been there dozens of times. That's where I got all my fish. Can't believe I've never noticed the rock there.  :-[

Yep when you head towards the back before you get to the back room there is a little alcove on the left next to the big Peacock tank, they usually will lay out all the holy rock on the floor in that alcove. I actually have to go there myself to check out the rock situation for a new 55g I am setting up so I'll let ya know after I go this week how much holy rock they have in stock.
