I bought 6 fry awhile back and wouldn't you know it I ended up with 5 males and 1 female. Just my luck. She held once and I took two fry one of which died during a water change mishap. they are about 1.5" now and in a tank with Lab. Gigas.
I'll have to remove them to their own tank soon but I am concerned about the ratio. However when I was low on females for a good ratio with peacocks I added several extra males and it actually worked quite well. The males spend so much time eyeing each other up they usually left the few ladies alone. And because there was so many males the aggression evened out well and I never witnessed a beat up or picked on fish.

Beautiful fish- I spawned them back in 2003 or so

How long do you let her hold them, I go 10 days and the fry are out, Sometime alot of egg, And if so i just put them in a trap for a few days.

I usually wait longer than that but they were eggs I had to tumble them. She was quite small yet and I wanted fry so I stripped her. Should of waited but there were only 2 eggs anyway.

Got about 8 eggs today while I was re-arranging and cleaning my tank. Poor female looks fine but not sure which of the 5 males is the daddy. She will likely get no support from which ever dead beat it was. Guess I'll have to take over from here LOL!

Stupid me!!!! I put them in a tumbler and it was in one of my more active and heavily stocked fry growout tanks. The fry kicked up too much debri and it plugged the tumbler and the eggs went bad quickly! Man I am pissed.
Back to the drawing board.

It irritates me tyo no end because I knew better as this has happened in the past. I was going to keep an eye on it and got called in to work for a day and forgot about them. I know its a matter of time before tragedy strikes and I lose my lone female then its all over but te crying.
