Title: Tanks in storage
Post by: Charles99 on November 04, 2017, 09:53:00 AM
I have three tanks that have been sitting in my basement dry for 5 to 6 years 30, 55, 75 gal. I want to get back into the hobby and was wondering if I need to worry about possible leaks from the tanks sitting so long?

I would just inspect the silicone to see if it looks good before filling.  Silicone generally is pretty hardy provided it hasn't been chewed on.

I agree. If the silicone looks good they are probably fine.  I would just fill them to test them out before putting them in a nice area.

You're probably fine.  Where you'd really need to worry is if they were outside in a shed or other non temperature regulated storage
