Here's just a quick easy little DIY I figured I'd share for anyone that wants to make their own frozen food feeder. I like to feed my frontosa and other carnivores frozen krill and frozen cube food about once per week but always have to either thaw the food first, or take some tank water out in a bowl and thaw it in that. Use to run it under tap water but always worried about chlorine and such going into the meaty food. Now there was no way in the world I was about to pay $25 for a couple inches of clear tube and .50cents worth of plastic. So I just made my own with some left over parts of various things I had laying around the fish room. Basically just an old HOB intake strainer with some medium size holes drilled into it to let the smaller pieces of frozen food drift out as it thaws. Then the larger krill pieces will stay held in by the strainer bottom so I can dump them in after they have fully thawed out. Hanger is just a part I cut off of one of those $8 battery powered gravel vac's that died awhile back. Same basic principal can but used with some odd & ends you may have laying around your fish room as well.

Cool project - thanks for sharing. I don't get why you had people riding you on FB about thawing in the tank provided that you do water changes sufficiently.

Because it's the internet Ron....you could say water is wet and there is gonna be someone that says "well I beg to differ blah blah blah" lol. Some people have nothing better to do than try to turn a helpful post into some sort of debate. People like that I just shake my head and ignore anymore though.
