Could someone tell me how to differentiate Demasoni from Pombo Rocks and Mozambique?

C. demasoni is only found in Tanzania & Malawi.

Several years ago there was a Pseudotropheus demasoni " Mozambique " around the hobby.
If I remember correctly it's easily distinguished from the original type locality at Pombo Rocks by having more numerous and much slimmer barring.

IMHO, the most important thing to remember when picking up Chindongo demasoni "Pombo Rocks" is to be sure that both the parents and the offspring have the same amount of solid barring on them.
Split or broken bars are a genetic clue of poor quality stock most likely from numerous generational inbreeding.

Thanks Tony and Blair.

I find some of mine have a dull blue with lighter bars and the others have a bright blue with dark black bars.

If you get the time try and get some good pics to post for better feedback.
It could be that the difference between the fish are sexual indications.
