I'm so sorry to read this.  I didn't know Terry personally, but he provided the Motor City Aquarium Society with beautiful plants for many of their raffles.  May he rest in peace.

Very sad, only met him a few times at auctions, but he was a great person to talk to for sure.

We meet a lot of great people through this fishkeeping hobby. Some just aquaintences, some that become life long friends & everything in between.
This afternoon we, as a community,  have lost one of these great men... Terry Thornsberry, better known as Thorny, has left us.

Thorny, you were a warrior in and out. Gruff & tough as all hell, making your way through life,  kicking it's ass.
Those of us who really knew you, knew you had a huge heart made of gold.

It's said that the hour of death cannot be forecast, but when they say this we imagine that hour as placed in an obscure and distant future. It never occurs to us that it has any connection with the day already begun or that death could arrive this same afternoon. So, Although you had been sick for a couple years now, your death has came as a big shock & left many of us, myself included,  in tears.

I am truly honored to have met you, gotten to know you & been able to call you my friend.

Just like Ron said I did not know him personally but I sure do offer my prayers for his family.

Was he a member here? Just trying to think if I had ever spoke to him on the site or maybe ran into him at an auction before or anything.

Terry was member here, his user name was Thorny, but he wasn't active for quite a while.
He was more active on FB and the groups there.
He did a lot of live plants sales. He also dabbled in building LED lights.
In fact, he designed and built the lights over the tanks at Fishy Bizzness for Chris.
Due to his health issues he hadn't been to an auction in a bit.

WHAT AN ABSOLUTELY AMAZING HUMAN BEING!!!

I just read an update from Terry's daughter on the Go Fund Me page for his final expenses.
Terry was a very giving man in his lifetime and even with his passing he continues to give.....because he was an organ donor some stranger will receive the gift of sight.....through Terry's iintense blue eyes.

Yup, that's Terry alright....still quietly giving!
