Title: Biohome media
Post by: mpa on January 17, 2016, 01:16:21 PM
Hello
Does anyone have any experience with bio home media? Was wondering if it works? And if you get it do you just added to your current ceramics in a media bag? Thanks for any info.

It's very porous. You can use it with ceramics but if the ceramics move around they will put a lot of wear and tear on the bio home media pellets, so I've been told (they are breakable, so seems to reason. The harder ceramics hitting the softer pellets, they would break). So use it by itself. It's suppose to be better than ceramics. Has bigger bio area all together, some say.  Use it as the last layer of filtration. They should last for years. Can be used in any filtration set-up. There are round ones for moving beds.
