Title: tank cracked in classroom
Post by: kodyboy on November 30, 2015, 09:10:35 AM
I have a question. A 45 gallon high cracked in my classroom over the weekend at the school. The boilers cut off and the school was very cold.  Do any of you know if temperature fluctuations like that can cause a tank to crack? The other 20 tanks are fine.
Thanks

If it were hot glass suddenly being hit with cold water than that would cause it to crack, but a gradual cool down from the boiler going out shouldn't do it I wouldn't think Scott.

Weird that's for sure I know the 30 inch tall tanks are known for just randomly cracking

Funny Steve😁
Yes 20 in my classroom for zoology. We raise cichlids and just got into CARES species.
It was the front pane.

Truth be told Scott, I don;t think it's funny, I think it's great 8) What people enjoy later in life is imprinted on them as kids, and you seriously are helping to further the hobby with what you are doing IMO bud. I think it's awesome :)
