I got a large heater in my qt tank that I have as low as it goes, yet the temp was reading 83 degrees, so I grabed another one to double check and it read 78 degrees, lol, so I grabed a third and it read 76 degrees.
Frustrating. Two of them are blinking on and off so I suspect the batteries are dying

Well the battery issues is kinda like your digital thermostat for your furnace. Depending on how old your furnace is if the batteries are going bad it can throw error codes on your furnace. Some are more accurate than others but if you are in doubt check them against a glass thermometer

I agree with Dan, I always have a glass thermometer in every tank...can never be too cautious when it comes to temp.

My eyesight isn't the best. I can never read those glass ones

Well... I dunno what to tell you then

I went to the hardware store and bought 2 new batteries, cost about as much as the whole thermometers.

Should've checked the Dollar Store...
