Title: Are all cheap digital thermometers garbage?
Post by: greg y on October 18, 2015, 08:53:16 PM: I got a large heater in my qt tank that I have as low as it goes, yet the temp was reading 83 degrees, so I grabed another one to double check and it read 78 degrees, lol, so I grabed a third and it read 76 degrees.

Frustrating. Two of them are blinking on and off so I suspect the batteries are dying

Post by: danielratti on October 19, 2015, 12:07:16 AM: Well the battery issues is kinda like your digital thermostat for your furnace. Depending on how old your furnace is if the batteries are going bad it can throw error codes on your furnace. Some are more accurate than others but if you are in doubt check them against a glass thermometer
