Just got home from chasing pike on the Au Sable. Slow fishing, with snow, 30f temps, and wind, but managed one pike that blasted my 6" streamer right at my feet. Hard conditions but still no place I'd rather be!

Very nice Steve. Seeing all the pics you post makes me miss the area even more.
Hard to believe I haven't been up there in over 1-1/2 years.
Maybe next Spring.

Tony you're welcome at my cabin/fish camp anytime but, just let me know.

I appreciate that Steve.

Were pike biting good with the cold weather?
-
Not that good, it was cold and the bite was "iffy" at best.
-
Sure getting good at those selfies Steve...you plan on ice fishing too this year?
-
I don't ice fish at all. Too hard to hit the whole with a fly cast every time ;D
-
What if the middle is thawed out could you then?
-
I actually do go out for some winter fly fishing, mostly for steelhead on rivers where there's only shelf ice at the edges because the water is always moving so doesn't freeze up fully.
-
I've seen guys do that before It always seemed iffy to me. But I guess it's not different than ice fishing.

I'm not saying anything "too easy"
