So this morning I saw that my WC Metriaclima Zebra Chilumba Female was holding. But it has a very swollen vent/anus area. Is this normal? Could it be malawi bloat?
Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

I had that happen with 1 of my tropheus females. It was either a prolapsed vent or trauma from the breeding process (clumsy or overzealous male nipping the vent). On any account I dosed tank with 1 tbsp/10gal with Epsom salts and that remedied the situation for me. Hope this helps & works for you too. Danny

I will try that Danny, thank you. Would it affect the female holding the eggs?

No it won't mate...you could add the full dose in 3 or 4 equal parts over the next 12 hours though to be sure...in lay-man's term the effect is to basically draw water out & reduce internal swelling...should have no detrimental effect of eggs or fry ;)
If you can Ace please post a picture of the female in question.

Great info. I will do that, and will try to post pic when i get home tonight.

Hey Ace how is your female zeb doing? Has the swelling resolved with the epsom salt treatment?
Is she still holding?
Cheers mate. Danny

I am really sorry to hear that Ace. I dunno where you could get a female. Try contacting importers to see if they can source 1 for you. All the best mate
