Title: Can I use this sponge for media in my sun sun hw 404b

I seen this sponge was wondering if I can use this in my canister.

Looks like it is too fine & would clog too quickly

Presuming it's fish safe, even if it would clog quickly you might still be able to use it as biomedia provided that mechanical filtration keeps debris from clogging it up.

I think it would clog too quickly to be of any use.

probably,  but I'd just go buy some dollar store pot scrubbies & lava rock from a landscape yard.

I've used that sponge on the end of a HOB and it lasted about a week before I had to clean it.
