Who around here sells south Americans? I was thinking about trying out some in my empty 90 gallon but never see anyone selling any on the sale page.

There's not a big SA interest around, it's even smaller than the CA keepers. Although angels seem to be easy to get your hands on.
Looks like there was only two within the first 6 pages.

It seems that until the demand for SA cichlids gets larger, you will either have to buy on-line, settle for the standards in the stores, or find other hobbyists that are selling either fry, pairs, or extras. I have a breeding pair of Aquedins dimerus for sale if you are interested for $20. Keep an eye out for group buys on this site in the fall.

I just cleared out my SA/CA tank.. couldnt sell them, ended up taking them to the LFS and getting store credit.

Ive just got the empty tank and thought it might be fun to try some giants from SA. Never done SAs before so thought it might be cool.

If I remember right, John Oyer has had quite the collection of southern S American cichlids, and Peter Durkin also has a number of large type.

Any idea on which species you'd like to try?

Not really sure, thinking just some things that get big.

Problem with that is you're limited with only having a 90.
