I'm new to the forum and Cichlid keeping. However, I've been in the aquarium hobby for 7 years. I live in Mississippi and am in need of a good support group that I haven't found here so far.
My babies include:
125g-Met. Greshakei, Albino Met. Greshakie, Yellow Labs, Rusties, Yellow Tailed Acei, and one tiny Demasoni that my toddler named "Gassy". Lol! (One of a few fish I took in because I couldn't stand how he was being housed or treated.)
55g-All Male Peacock Tank: 1 Sunshine, 1 Electric Blue?, 1 Sulfur Head, 2 Strawberries
55g-1 lonely Membe Deep male, named Jack. I just lost his girl, Dianne, and we're both mourning her passing. :'( Now proudly raising 6 new Membe Deep juveniles! 😃
Thanks for having me and reading this. God Bless!

Welcome! :)
Many of us here have well/ground water that allows us to easily house cichlids. Do you also have this kind of water in MS, or do you have to do gymnastics to get the water conditions comfortable?

I have well water but most people don't. It's one of the benefits of living on a farm! 😊 Well water with crushed coral substrate and holy rock keep the ph stable and not too low. I try to avoid chemicals whenever possible.
