?? Has anyone use Black Beauty Blasting Sand for subtrate? On way to Menards to buy a 50 lb bag. 8 bucks.

I'm not sure if it was this forum or another but I remember reading several posts regarding blasting sand. The gist of it was that you need to rinse it just like any sand and apparently plants do well in it. I haven't tried it yet but my next tank will have it. Good luck! '

I've heard of it being used quite a bit through various forums.

Blasting sand is safe.....just rinse good.

How did the blasting sand work out for you? I'll be setting my new tank up by summers end and am very curious if this route works alright.

we use the black beauty blasting sand in several of our tanks..the fine is just a bit too fine i think..but the coarse seems to work out beautifully.....and it needs a lot less rinsing...
