Title: corys
Post by: Jen L on April 30, 2015, 01:17:23 PM
Since I just found out I need some corys in my tank, what are good one for a 55g with 8 male peacocks, 1 striped Raphael cat and 5+ syno. pets?

I have not had great luck with corries and Africans, they tend to get pounded.  I have had good luck with clown loaches thought.  Why do you "need" corries?

The needed water parameters for corydoras are quite different than africans.  Oh and while they are armored cats, they are passive to the point of Buddhist monks.

Alright I'll just stick with the synos. Thanks everyone!

I've kept and bred corydoras in Detroit city water.  I've also had a group of orange laser corys in with a group of peacocks and labidochromis for well over a year now with no issues.  Just make sure you have plenty of decor in the tank and watch them (like you should watch any new fish you introduce) to make sure they're not getting picked on.

I have cories in with my breeding group of Blue Neon Peacocks, but they are Bronze Cories that are huge, so they don't get picked on as much as something smaller.
