I know that in this current technology driven age I'm strange but I like books. Are there any books on the hobby in general, cichlids of the rift lakes, SA/CA cichlids, dwarfs, etc. that any of you would recommend?
Thanks

Dan I have this one here and really like it http://www.amazon.com/Malawi-Cichlids-Tanzania-Andreas-Spreinat/dp/3931328007
Don't look at the price on that link though, I found mine brand new on ebay for $10 so it can be found much cheaper than the one in the link.

The Aqualog series are decent for SA/CA cichlids, although some are out of date as species get re-classified.
There was a guy who was working on publishing a book specifically on CA cichlids but I'm not sure if it ever got off the ground.
Personally as far as the hobby in general I really like the books with a single page for each species and a description of size, habitat, etc. I can look up the names of some I have later when I'm home.

That would be great. Thank you.

Malawi Cichlids in their Natural Habitat is a favorite of mine. I have the third addition - haven't seen the fourth edition, but I believe that's the most current version.
