Title: My first meeting

That was quite an experience.  Tonight my wife, one of our sons, and I attended our first fish club of any kind meeting.  The speaker was full of great information,  at least what could be heard of it, and the auctions and raffle were fun. We're likely to be back.  Thanks Mission Man for the white top afra and thanks GrizzlysDad for the otocinclus and bristlenoses.

 It was nice to see you guys again. It's usually not quite so loud but I think there was a party just outside on the other side of the curtain. The speaker was awesome (A lot of useful information).  The waitstaff was quite entertaining too.

Correct.  There was a party just on the other side of the wall.
 The BoD has discussed bringing our PA system...  but, I think we need to find another venue before we overtake karaoke night. ;)

You may want to check out Knights of Columbus,  American Legion, VFWs  in the area.  They tend to have unused space available.

That's a good idea. But, I'd like to keep it at a restaurant/banquet setting. Its nice to be able to get dinner AND see a presentation.
 (Although I'm only one vote out of 13)

I can see that.  I know that a few Legion posts K of C halls do offer food and of course they all have beverages.
