Just wanted to see what everyone is using to feed their Africans and which food brings out the best color.

NLS in our house. A little Omega One sometimes.
Bulk flake from Marty... which I need more of.

I use sinking pellets from Wet Thumb (now closed) but their supplier is "Best Flake" out of California. I also get the Garlic and Paprika color enhancer pellets as well from same supplier. Then to break up the feedings I will use a Spirulina Flake from same supplier as well
I also do NLS that I buy in bulk from Oyers for my grow-out tanks (small pellets).

The African species I have get Thera A & Cobalt flakes.

HBH veggie 8 for Herbivores and Paradigm Fish food for others along with frozen brine shrimp for other tangs. Some of the best food on the market.

I personally think that it depends on the Fishes natural colors. To much food with Xanthophyll's for a fish that is supposed to be red and you'll get a more purple looking fish. To much food with certain carotenoids in it for a fish that is supposed to be yellow, off white or tan and it will look orange. So on and so forth...
So although it's important to choose a food that is proper for the colors of the fish it's also necessary for ample vitamin and mineral mix. Some foods don't have one but have others. Some foods not much at all. Multiple foods of the right quality are best.

I feed a large assortment of foods. My fish eat a different food every day of the week.
I use Plecocaine for all my fish, NLS Thera-A, all the different varieties of Styx and Bytes from Neptune Aquatics, several different types of flakes from Neptune and from Kensfish, I alternate frozen blood worms, mysis shrimp, and I use the frozen brine shrimp that is enhanced with spirulina (it's actually very green).
I'm using two of John's newer variety of flake foods....the Mbuna/Tropheus flake and the Black Worm flakes make all of my fish go into a feeding frenzy!!!
In addition to all the great food I also feed about once or twice a week the Color Max flake.
And then there's the fresh vegetables that I feed to my plecos and the mbuna too.
