I picked up two of these horei fish from a LFS and was wondering if my haps and peckocks will get along with these fish? They look awesome but what I have been reading is they tend to be agressive. They are about an inch and seem to be holding there own in the tank just fine, I'm just worried that in a couple of months they ate going to be too agressive for my tank.

I'd recommend keeping them with other Tangs & not with Malawi.

So should I put them with tangs because of geologic reasons or temperament? if your getting at tangs should be with tangs and malawi with malawi I get that, I believe I was misinformed while buying and I was just wondering if anyone has had success keeping this species with malawi fish or should I just get them out of the tank now before it becomes an issue.

I would move them to a tang tank with a group of lamps that can hold their own. The bigger they get as lot more aggressive they get.

The majority of your Malawi are of a less aggressive nature.

Thank you for the response, I don't have another tank at the moment I guess I will get rid of them 😞

I find first off they are very hard on each other, even in a tank of say 150 gal (and even at a young age), the dominant one will search out and kill the other. But keeping them with other species, especially if the others are much larger might work, and if the others have a different shape or color .
