Want to get an oxygen tank and regulator. Haven't researched yet and not sure what I'm looking for. The smaller the tank the better (I think). Do I get welding or medical etc.
If anyone has used in good shape for good price, I'll definitely consider.
Thanks in advance.

I got mine from a welding supply inside ACE hardware. You can get them at Harbor Freight to. I would watch used ones based on the certification date, could run into issues trying to get it filled. The place I go swaps my empty for a full one so I never have to worry about the date. Just had to pay the cost of the cylinder.

Ok, so you just use welding grade oxygen? And it's ok (well I guess it must be). Thanks Josh

Yes, they sell all the welding gases and I told them I needed pure oxygen and they set me up.

Good info. Thanks again, Josh

Try Stan... he might still have an extra one.

Thanks Blair. Let me do some checking first. That's Stan M, right?

I was at Stan's place on Sunday, IIRC he had a small handful of them in his basement. Not sure if he want's to get rid of one or not tho.

Yes I have some oxygen tanks with regulator that I could sell. :)

if you have a medical oxygen tank that is empty , you cannot get it refilled without a prescription from a doctor...and the cost is more...i bought a tank that is about 18-24 inches tall and about 8 inches diameter....filled woth o2 it was about $115......refills are about $15 or so...that much o2 will fill hundreds upon hundreds of bags....

The most common tank sizes are 20, 40, and 80 cu ft. I bought a 60 cu ft cylinder from Praxair online and had it shipped to me. I drop it off at the local Praxair dealer in Pontiac and they ship it out to the fill station for me because they don't stock 60cu ft tanks for exchange in this region. Turnaround is 2-3 days and they will give me a loaner tank if needed.
