Well I know that title will get some attention ;)
Serious question though...
I have around 8 hybrid, four 1" and about four 3"...all fish that were born last winter/spring'ish and I had no idea they were hybrid at the time but now it's to late to "cull" them. I just hate to kill a fish that is more than a fry, so. I have around 8 of these fish from 1-3". I don't want to sell them and introduce them back into the hobby, yet at the size they are I hate to just kill them for no reason. Yet they are taking up room in my tank. What to do with them??

Feed them to my pikes... they'll serve a purpose as food. ;)

I think this is ironic coming from a fisherman. Just fry em up! :)

And that is why everyone who isn't planning on breeding fish should still trying to avoid fish crossbreeding. Inevitably mbuna tend to breed if they are well taken care of.
Best bet is to get rid of hybrid fry sooner rather than later, because the bigger they get, the harder they are to get rid of. Finding someone with predatory fish who'll get use out of them is the best thing at this point IMO.

I'll probably just set up a spare tank in the basement then and let them live out their lives. I certainly wont be putting them out into the hobby, but yet I don't like the idea of killing a grown fish just because it's not pure blood either. Yep Ron it would have been much easier to cull them when they were fry, but I thought at the time they were gonna be pure Y.labs. Wasn't until they started coloring up that I saw the blue faces and bellies :-[
Oh well no biggie, figured I'd at least ask though in case someone had a better idea. Another tank for the work shop I guess lol
