Title: How fast do snails breed?
Post by: four_by_ken on April 28, 2014, 04:18:47 PM
Looking to get some snails breeding in a 10 gallon tank to feed to our puffers.

How fast do they reproduce?  I dont want to feed too many and thin them out too much.

Ramshorns need at least two to reproduce but I'd leave 5-10 to be safe.  Pond or bladdder snails just need one but wait until you have some going.  A month would be a good start.  Your puffers will be fine with no snails for a month.

Alright.

Thanks.
