Title: new to cichlids
Post by: my2kidsohio on March 30, 2014, 07:55:11 PM
I am new to purchasing cichlids and the place we got these two today didn't know much about them.  Can you help with their name, scientific name and where they come from.

They look to be Malawi peacocks. I'm not sure about which species they are,  but the second one looks like a German Red.

Do some research on the Aulonacara genus & you'll find their husbandry requirements.

Thank you, we have 3 tanks, but only 1 that will be only cichlids.  125 gallons.  We have 8 plus the two we just got.  The last place we got them was very knowledgeable about the species.  So its a learning project.
