Can this be bought in balk and be used in a home aquarium ?
Possibly at home depot or a watter treatment place that deals with houses using well watter or something along those lines .

For what it's worth I've never run carbon in my aquariums for the past nearly two years. I think it's helpful for getting meds out of the water column and not much else. I think you'd save money and hassle not using it.

Carbon is useful for getting any organics out of the water, so if you have normally stained water it might be worth running all the time.
Personally, I don't run it and have a bag on hand for use only after using a medication. I think I've had the same 1lb bag for at least 12 years now.
I do suspect it's cheaper in bulk than if you buy it in a bag with a picture of fish on it. So long as you get 100% carbon that isn't treated in any way, you should be alright. Might want to test it for the first time on some less expensive fish just in case.

I have read me some literature and now I'm completely on the fence , However I will continue to use the carbon simply based on the fact of the odor removing capabilities . I find by my own research and development that it dose help remove odor IMO .
It is very controversial subject ...
So Anybody buy carbon In bulk and where ?
