FWIW, I noticed the image size is quite large. I've noticed the same on my camera and phone, the settings are usually set to take the largest image possible (both size and resolution), but most people don't necessarily have screens large enough to show the entire image and/or the large file sizes make it slower to download. One solution is to edit the photo and reduce the size, for example I export images out of iPhoto that are smaller that the originally normally. A second solution is to change the options for your camera so it takes slightly smaller size images to start (which also lets you take more pictures before the memory potentially fills up).
