I purchased this fish on sale for 5 bucks at my Lfs labeled as assorted peacocks. Was wonder what species everyone thought it might be? And also if its a hybrid? Sorry for the quality all I have is my camera on my phone. Thanks

Appears to be Aulonocara stuartgranti, probably the Ngara location also known in the trade as "Flametail".

Thank you for the input. That's what I was guessing.

I don't think so. (going by the pelvic & anal fin coloration. )

Looking at it again, your right. Cobue was my other thought, but the coloration in the fins is still off. I don't know my peacock collection points extremely well so I'm not sure on what else it could be, but still feel that it's A. stuartgranti. I suppose it could be a mix.

Cobue was my thoughts also & I agree that it's a stuartgranti type.... Maybe one of those Blue Dragon bloods that are floating around?

Definitely not one of those IMO. From what I've seen they have primarily blue heads with a "dragon blood" body.

The one that Nismo_Sky had looked very similar to this. & Ken Lewis has some which the females are OB, but males look similar to this.
Maybe Ken will chime in & explain his further?

The blue dragons blood up here look a lot like this. Some people are even trying to pass them off as blue regal. I honestly was thinking cobue also but the fins looked way to dark to me.

That's a beautiful fish.

Thanks, I'll have to post better/more pics as he grows and colors.
