I live in haslett michigan. I was wondering the best places to get rocks for aquariums? Looking for lava rocks, tufa rocks, any nice rocks for my aqua scape?

Most LFS have various rock for sale..
The rock I have used in my tanks include: Lace rock.. Texas Holey Rock.. River rock (smooth colored stones from very small to many pounds). People also use slate, and jusy about anything that won't leach any toxins into your water.
This time of the year might be tough, but I went to the local landscaping companies to buy my rock.. you can pick it out and is much cheaper. However.. lace rock will be tough to find as it was for me, and texas holey rock is never available at landscape places.
Lava rock is ok, but like Lace rock it is porous and can scratch fish on occasion.
I guess it depends on what you want your tank to look like, but regardless just make sure what you choose is safely stacked, provides the necessary hiding spots, and is clean and ready to go before putting it in.
Good luck on the hunt!
