Title: Wet Dry filters
Post by: breaktime on January 04, 2014, 04:35:19 PM
I wanted to increase the amount of water going thru the filter by turning up the pump, but the noise from the  water going down the overflow became loud. How do I quiet it down so I can run the pump at the increased gpm.

How low do you have the pipe cut? Put a sponge on it maybe

Do you have a durso stand pipe on the overflow?  look up www.dursostandpipes.com.  This is the best solution.  I use it on my 120 gallon and the only noise you hear is pump humming.

I'll have to look down in there, I didn't install it.

I will look into that, I not exactly sure what was installed. I also hear water dripping from the bottom of the wet dry filter box into the sump.

Take some pictures and post them in this thread.  Might help to figure out what to do.

I will be making a couple wet/dry in not too long.

Good idea, I will do that.  Maybe I'll try to do a quick video so you can hear it as well. Can video be loaded in the forum?

Pictures can be loaded, video cannot. You can host the video somewhere else though and share a link here.
