I've been told adding salt to a cichlid tank is good for the fish. How much do you add?
Today is the day I get my tank ......exciting times! As long as the carpet installation guys show up on time.
I've washed my cichlid sand outside last night, the water really never flushed clear. I spent 45minutes rinsing 6 bags of sand. Caribsea also sends in each bag of sand a packet of bio magnet clarifier, I throw in all 6 packets. Anything else I need to do that I'm missing? Also how long before I can throw in fresh and apprx. How many? I plan on getting a sponge filter that's already seeded plus bacteria in a bottle. I will post pics once i get my computer set back up.

The cloudiness will clear up in a couple days at most. Your filters will likely need to be cleaned. Because of this... it would be smart to not add fish and not try to get the tank cycled until after it clears up.
How big of a tank?
Add a few fish and slowly ramp up. Size of the fish will also determine how fast and how many you can add.

125 gal
I was hoping to be able to add fish tomorrow. I will most likely go with 3" fish.

The only reason I said to wait...
If you still have cloudiness the filters will pick up these fine particles. If you take them out to clean them... you will be taking a step backwards in the "getting the tank cycled" area.
Only you can really see just how cloudy the tank is an how fast/bad the filters will get clogged up. You may be fine.
With the size tank you have, you should be fine with adding fish. Just take it easy on the feedings to start and you should probably do a water change in a couple days and then another in a couple days.
Personally, I wouldn't hesitate with adding in a half dozen fish. Water changes and do NOT over feed... you will be up and cycled in no time.
Remember, everyone has their own opinion.

Same here. Never add it anymore.
