Found a 55G on craigslist right around the corner from me. It came with tank, stand, canopy, two lids (led lighting including moonlights) and some other extra stuff. $100. It was used for his snake (Albino Corn Snake) so I will give it a good scrubbing. Will try to get some pics but am in the process of packing for a move, so they may be a little late. I'll be putting my White Labs, Elongatus Chewere and S. Multipunctatus in there. My Williamsi North Makonde will also join the tank when they grow a little more.
Oh yes, my new house has a fish room for me. Future thread on how that develops. 8)

Congrats on the tank, but big congrats on the fish room! Oh yea the new house thing is probably a good thing too.. ;)

Sounds like you got a good deal

Since you have no where to set it up, why don't I offer my spare bedroom. You can come down, stock the tank, provide me with what you want to feed. I will do the water changes on daily feedings.... Just an idea.

Bahahaha! That's a line I'd expect from Jeff or myself. :D I do have room in my new house tho. Will be setting it up Wednesday while I wait for all the people to show up and connect my services.
Here are a few pics of the tank...pardon the mess, move in progress. lol

Where are you going to live now ?

That tank sure looks nicer than the "$100 tank and stand" I had pictured.

I'm moving to Grayling...where my wife and I both work. The savings on gas will just about pay my mortgage (including insurance and taxes). We'll get more room (including a 2nd detached garage and a basement for me). We were going to buy this house back in 2010 but didn't go through with it. We're buying it now for $35K less. Good for us ;D, bad for the seller. :'(

Yeah, when I saw it on CL it was 2 days old...I figured it was gone and wasn't even going to email him. Good thing I did. The lights were a bonus since they weren't mentioned in the ad.

I have the same lights that came with my 55 gallon package. I liked that they were LED's but had read that some didn't like them very much. I have to say thou, for a 55 gallon tank they are perfect, you get the shimmering effect, they reach the bottom of the tank and fill it front to back very well. Might be different on a deeper / wider tank, but for a 55 gallon setup two of these lights are more than adequate. I would suggest them to someone else for sure. You can buy these hood/light combos from many retailers for many different tank sizes. I was tempted to buy a hood/light for my 29, but since it will be the angels home and I'll be planting that tank I'm going to go another route.

Tank set up in the new house. It's been a long week and tomorrow's the best part ::) ...moving the rest of my stuff to the new place. I've been moving stuff all week, put in the new appliances the wife wanted, getting all the services connected.
Here's the tank:

Here's the kitchen (all new appliances except double oven...that can wait a little...$$$)
