I was wondering if anyone had any information on this group. I'm a student at the University of Michigan and would like to get involved with the local fishkeeping community, but it seems as if this particular one is extinct. If any other U of M students or Ann Arbor residents want to help me start this club back up or just do like an informal meet up let me know!
Here's their website (looks like the last update was in 2008): http://sitemaker.umich.edu/aquarium.society/home (http://sitemaker.umich.edu/aquarium.society/home)

That was one of the plcaes i found when I was first looking for sites, unforuntalty I believe it is dead as I never got any word back or found out an information on the club. Your best best is here and also greatlakeaquaria.com I know for sure there is members in the ann arbor area.

I'm not sure if "extinct" is the correct term. I'm still a member. 8)

Perhaps "dissolved" is a better term. We'd reached a point where our core was all people who were graduating and leaving campus to start their careers and there just weren't underclassmen who'd joined and taken an active role to keep it going.
The true pinnacle club event I recall is arranging a tank tour of members tanks. Everyone had a great variety of interests in the types of fish they kept and it was a fun night seeing a lot of different species and tank setups, many of which I haven't seen since.
If you're motivated you might consider trying to start a new club on campus ... ?
