that's crazy! I hadn't imagined people would set up tanks in rooms and stuff but I guess you would have to to be there a few days.
are the prices on merchandise super awesome or not really? Is you see a new in box ac110 for under $60 let me know and I'll paypal you the money ;-)
-
Pretty cool. I gotta ask though ;D....does Hotel management know about the tanks set up in the rooms, or is it kind of a crap close the door here comes the desk clerk! type thing? LOL ;D
-
Hotel room doors are just left open people are free to walk in and look. The management does not care.
-
Well that's really cool. Never would have guessed that.
-
The vendor area is mostly dry goods. I was expecting more fish still very cool, prices are pretty much rock bottom on everything. Big buckets of NLS $35.

Alot of those are repeats of what I posted already but I did add some from the very cool LFS aquatica
Overall the convention was awesome. I got incredibly intoxicated Friday night so Saturday wasn't very much fun for me. Ill skip that part next time, or maybe not a year is a long time to work on my robot. Besides that non sense the coolest part of the whole thing was actually walking around and talking and buying stuff out of the rooms. The auction was nice but I was expecting much larger. I would have been disappointed if I just drove down for the auction. It was comparable to an MCA auction. Josh told me it was about half the size as last years auction. There is defiantly different stuff being bred down there then here so that always neat to see. The vendor day was pretty cool as well but really really packed you could hardly get to the tables to look at the fish. I plan to go back next year and hopefully bring some of my stuff to sell out of the room. In conclusion 2 thumbs up, incredibly well put together.

Great Pics...thanks for sharing!

X 2 Dan!

Attending an ACA convention is on my list and actually have a savings acct for that. Considering cashing that out for next years OCA. Every year OCA looks better and better......Midwest, Great Lakes area is home to the best cichlids! socal and florida are for distributors profit mongers.
OHIO has it going on for cichlids!
-
Also next year is the 20th anniversary, they were promising some big things. I would say next year is the one to attend. They didn't mention any specifics though.
-
Always a good time and yes next year should be good. The board is already discussing ideas, options, speakers, etc.
Picked up the following:
Proven breeding group of mimpbwe fronts
6 Paralabidochromis chromogynos
9 Haplochromis thereuterion
14 Paralabidochromis sp. "red fin piebald"
3 Astatoreochromis alluaudi males
14 Xenotilapia sp. "Ochrogenys Ndole"
2 Callochromis Stappersii females
10 Labidochromis sp. "Perlmutt"
5 OB Peacock females
1 Lethrinop sp. Red Cap Female
14 Tropheus Ikola
And grabbed a pair of black nangu comps at the auction.
