Hello,
Just getting into the Cichlid world with a 50 gallon filled with mainly Mbunas that I started up in June this year.
I'm working with 2 Cherry Red's (m/f), 3 Yellow tailed Acei(2m/1f), 1 Peacock(f), and 1 Red Jewel (f) with amazing coloring.
Just now starting to get into the breeding scene to make use of our extra 3 gal, 15 gal, and 29 gal tanks.
Ultimately I'd like to breed the Acei's, Red jewels, and the Cherry Reds. If you happen to have a nice 3"+ Male Red Jewel I'd be very interested in buying or trading.

Welcome aboard. Keep an eye on the Cherry reds they can be a bit aggressive in a tank with fish that are more mild natured like Acei and Peacocks. Some of mine Reds are down right bullies.

Thanks for all the welcomes and thanks for the advice. We actually first had a cherry red zebra that kept the red jewel in line, but we have since then sold him. She is showing aggression, but with a lot of plant cover and slate "caves" the others hide very well. In time I think I'll move the cherry reds to the 29 gal and bring some yellow labs in.

Lots of changes since my first post the other day. We've opened up our 30 gal and 2 gal to shake things up a bit, moving some fish around to change dominance. We found a breeding pair of Yellow Labs that was already holding, so we're getting into breeding sooner rather than later! Just waiting for her to release naturally this time, but we built a DIY tumbler for the next time!

Welcome.
If you're looking to breed you're going to find yourself needing more tanks. Also, be mindful of what you breed so you're not stuck with a bunch of fry you can't sell and get overrun.
