Title: When will I see them?
Post by: Sean on September 25, 2013, 05:48:01 PM
I bought 3 gold ocellatus fry at the auction about .5" I put them in a ten gallon with a lot of shells. Saw a single one of them the night that i got them, and haven't seen any of them since. When do you guys think they will come out of the shells? Also, is there any other fish i could mix in that tank with them? Multies, brevis, etc.

When they're a little bigger or get comfortable.  Make sure you're feeding eg I've heard brine shrimp works well.
I would do species only especially that fish size and tank size.

They came from a 29 gal that housed 5 other golds and 10 Mwela orange comps of equal size. They were fed NLS grow pellets and would dart all around grabbing food at feeding time. I'm surprised you don't see them. Are you feeding floating food? If so, try sinking food.

I'm feeding ocean nutrition formula two flakes and frozen brine shrimp. Will try a small sinking food
