As you know I had a disaster a few weeks back when I lost my entire 55g peacock tank to a power outage while on vacation. After revamping the tank with live plants, black sand and a whole new stock thanks to members here it's been back up and running for a couple weeks now. Figured I'd take some pics now that everyone is settled in and fully colored back up in their new home. I've also been dosing the tank with Florish Excel and the plants seem to be doing really well so far, and surprisingly no one seems to be trying to eat them yet which is good.

Very nice looking tank and fish.
-
Nice fish. Good choice on the albino pleco - nice contrast with the substrate.
-
I can't get over how nice your pure ruby red peacock is. ;D
-
Wow - those fish are stunning... The tank looks awesome as well.. KUDOS !
-
First AWESOME Once again
Second is that a G Loomis symbol on the tank?
Third,What kind of camera and what setting do you use to take such great Pictures?
-
Keen eye Rich, that's actually a skeleton fish I carved out of foam and painted, but yes I loosely based it on the Loomis fish ;D
My camera is a Canon 20d SLR with a Sigma 18-200 3.5-6.2 lens. I always try a few different settings when I take pics of my tanks because sometimes one setting will work better than the other and visa versa depending on if the fish are moving or very active or not. If they are moving around a lot then I usually shoot in manual mode with a high shutter speed and about a 5.6 f stop. Other times I will shoot in auto mode and bounce the flash off the ceiling so that it is not aimed directly at the tank. When I don't use the flash then I shoot from a tripod because the shutter stays open longer so you have to avoid blur by using the tripod. Then when I do that I use a remote wireless shutter trigger to further help avoid any camera shake.
