If I was to take a Cheery red zebra Male and mate it with a female ob peacok, is that a NO NO or is it considered Line Breed?

It actually just won't work.  Even if they were to mate which I doubt there is no way the eggs would produce fry.  Also line breeding is most often referred to when breeding a fish for certain characteristics.  Ie. Long fins or runners certain colors or more vibrant colors.

One theory is that the OB Peacock was developed from an OB Red Zebra X Peacock mating. I think the eggs from the mix in question would be viable. Don't know what the purpose of the proposed mating would be though....more red in your peacocks?

I am asking only because I came across a peacock that was labeled a zebra peacock, and it was bright orange with the peacock pattern

Yeah it seems I am wrong I guess on peacocks can breed with mbuna at least the inter web says so.  Still sounds horribly wrong.

Whats the point of it. Just to add more hybrids into the hobby? Only hybrid that matters is Blair's Tropheus Butkerfaria in the making.

What if and I'm just saying what if Rich's cherry red zebra said "look Rich I don't want me none of that other cherry red that's not my style I want me some blue fish or green yellow or even some chocolate fishes. I like some variety Rich and your holding me back" I mean the fish makes a valuable argument who are to deny his natural urges?????

I'm just saying it could have happened we weren't there  😂😂😭😭😭😭

Every time a hybrids born, an Angel gets her wings. I think that's how it goes. You don't want to hurt the angels do you?

No doubt they will. I'm hoping the Tropheus draws blood from the owl & the Butterfarkeria have feathers as a result.
