Title: Finally!

Was just looking at my 55 gallon tank an noticed a pit in the gravel under a cave. Looked in there to see if I accidentally did it during water changes or if a fish dug it, and I discovered my benga sunshine female holding! Been waiting for her for a while

Thanks! Unfortunately, I think the father is a German red, but I may raise them anyway to see what they look like

if you're looking to breed peacocks, you should only have the one species of peacock in the tank...no random males or females even some unrelated fish like S. freyeri are notorious for breeding with peacock females.  Please don't distribute those fry.

I know. I figured somebody would say that. I wont be distributing them, just raising them because I'm curious to see what they turn out like

I'm not against hybrids so much as when people distribute them.  I've got a couple of hybrids in my all male tank because someone sold them to me as purebred and were definitely not what what they were sold as which makes me angry...but they turned out pretty nonetheless so the males have a place, the females will be euthanized or possibly become companion fish for other females I'd like to breed.

I agree. I have no problems with hybrids as long as they are sold as such. I would never sell these as anything else

I think you misunderstand me,  I'm Ok with people having hybrids in their tanks so long as they live the entirety of their life in those tanks and do not leave your possession.
